Vita
Sigrid Kannengießer holds a Postdoc-position at ZeMKI since 2012; her current project on sustainability and media appropriation is funded by the Central Research Development Fund of the University of Bremen.
She was awarded the Bremer Studienpreis 2013 for her dissertation in which she analyzed a transloacal network of women's organizations. Her dissertation was funded by the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation (2009-2012). After studying Media Culture and Political Science at the University of Bochum and the University of Hamburg, she was research associate at the University of Hamburg (2007-2009). In 2008 she graduated from the program "Virtual Intercultural Gender Studies. Qualification equality" at the University of Hagen.
She is chairperson of the devision Sociology of Media Communication of the German Communication Association (DGPuK) (2015-2017 she was vice-chairperson).
